Blog Engage - Homophobic? Let the Readers Censor You!

JUST SAY NO! To Blog Engage!
We first wrote about BlogEngage in 2008. It sounded like a cool tool.
But I recently found out they were censoring my gay travel submissions! My sites are not sexual in nature and quite popular with people seeking LGBT travel info. We are on page one of Google for about 3000 keyword combinations currently, have a page rank of 5, and attract over 40,000 unique readers a month from 150 countries. We also attract the attention of tourism boards worldwide as well as national advertisers.
MyBlogLog, BlogCatalog, FaceBook, and many others have no problem with my sites. But apparently, some right wing homophobics keep complaining my gay travel sites are "sexual in nature" - which they are not. So as of today, I am removing all links to Blog Engage, from all of my sites that have been promoting them.
You gotta love censorship, right?

How frustrating is that? I used to work for a LGBT travel publication that was very strict about content. We partnered with various tourism organizations and we were proud to have a clean publication that was universally friendly. We experienced your same problem when submitting our site to Microsoft adCenter for PPC keywords. The site was denied due to inappropriate content, which means no one looks at the site. Apparently the keyword “gay” is enough to make a site inappropriate.
