What The Hell Happened To MyBlogLog Now That Yahoo Got Involved ?

We met a young lady by the name of Robyn Tippins back in the Spring at SOBCon 07, here in Chicago.
She spoke to the group about this great tool called  MyBlogLog and that YAHOO had just acquired them (for $10 million) and  it was about to get EVEN GREATER!

We used the tool all summer. We used it on 6 of our personal blogs and on 6 of our clients blogs. Last week, when we went to sign in, there was a new screen! Saying everyone must now have a YAHOO  ID  to sign in and merge the accounts.  So we signed up for 12 Yahoo ID's. Some of the accounts merged, some of the accounts did not merge, and some of the accounts  merged  half way!  NIGHTMARE! Anyone else having these problems?

Now, when we go to sign in, it sometimes does not recognize the  YAHOO ID. We tried to reset the passwords, we tried creating new accounts, we sent three emails to customer service with no response back.

Today I found 2 phone numbers for YAHOO -  866-562-7219  and  408-349-1572. The first guy that answered had never heard of MyBlogLog or Robyn Tippins!  He said he was in the California office but gave me to his supervisor who was in the Phillippines! Of course, he had no idea of what I was talking about!

According to the MyBlogLog Blog, "We're working out post-integration kinks and the site is running w-a-a-a-a-y slow. Rest assured, no data is  being dropped and the Recent Reader widget is running just fine. We're just having some issues with a squirrelly database.

The team has been on it since last night and I'll continue to post updates here on progress.

UPDATE: We've got a temporary fix in place so the site is running normally. We are continuing to work behind the scenes to get this resolved permanently. Shiny new servers need to some additional spit and polish.

UPDATE: We're back in business. Anyone having some problems logging into their accounts or any other UI shenanigans that has not contacted customer service, please do so we can be sure we've taken care of everyone. "

What? Hello? Does anyone really work in customer service? How do we reach customer service? Maybe if I leave a comment on their blog, someone will answer my plea's!

What I find amazing is when  a huge company takes over another  and they merge, the little guy, that was great before, and had a customer service number, now becomes harder to deal with and unpublishes their support numbers.  It happened when EBAY bought PAYPAL, when YAHOO  bought MyBlogLOg and when GOOGLE bought Feedburner.

    Derrick,
I sent you an email earlier this week, sorry that I missed your earlier ones. I'm sorry to hear that Yahoo's receptionists have never heard of us. From what I understand, other services went through that as well. How embarrassing :(

In the future, I'll make sure my phone is posted on the blog. I thought I had given it to you in Chicago. My office number is 510-704-2452.

I'm so sorry for all the trouble (and major annoyance) that the merge has caused. We warned well in advance that it would happen, but we didn't warn that there would be such painful kinks. We just didn't anticipate the problems, since we tested this for weeks internally. Of course, Murphy's Law demands that something would go wrong... The fact that we caused such major pain to our members really bothers us.

Again, I can't apologize enough for your troubles. If you still can't login, please call my office so we can get to the bottom of this.

Looking forward to seeing you again. --Robyn
