The Ultimate Guide To Productivity - What's Your Secret?

( A writing project by Ben Yoskovitz / Instigator Blog)

Today I was bouncing around and checking out a few of my favorite blogs - yes, I have an RSS reader,
but about twice a month I just pick a few blogs and pop in on them to see what's going on. Anyway, I stopped by Technorati to see if there was any new linking going on with my sites. And I saw that Alister Cameron had just tagged / linked to me! So I start reading this great article about Passion, Purpose and Productivity.

It's a wonderful article and he starts it with, "compassIf what you do with the best hours of your day is not
also the thing you're passionate about, stop right now!

FIND YOUR PASSION! AND DO IT!

I have said that time and time again.
I said it just recently on my LIFE BY DESIGN BLOG.

I had commented on Oprah, who I truly admire. She basically said that our mission here on Earth is to  find our passion, "Does what you're doing now feel right?
Does it fill you up or leave you drained? Forget what everyone else wants for you. This is not your
mothers or your best friends journey. Only you were there for all the significant moments that hold
the clues to your calling."

That is so true! And Roy, of Siegfried and Roy would always tell me, "Those who dare to dream can accomplish great things, because it is their passion in life!"

So to get along with my story, as I am reading Alison's post, and at the very end, he tagged about half
a dozen bloggers, including myself. And at the end of the story is a link -
The Ultimate Guide to Productivity - Whats Your Secret?

When I clicked the link it took me to Ben Yoskovitz and his Instigator Blog! Ben has come up with
this neat writing project! To get people to write about their secret to productivity. And then tag
someone, and they write about it, and so on.

He says,"Today I'm announcing the start of a new Group Writing Project Meme to create the Ultimate Guide to Productivity. It's simple:

  1. Write a post on your best productivity tips. Challenge yourself by picking your single best productivity tip (although this isn't a requirement; you can give us more if you want!)
  2. Include links to other people that have written posts, or include their tips in your post with proper attribution."

So as for my tip - I agree with Alister - and Oprah, and Siegfried & Roy - you have to have passion in
your life. And you have to follow your dreams, and in turn, lead a very productive career. If you're not passionate, you're left drained, unmotivated, and unproductive.  -  I run on adrenaline all day, when I
am doing what I want to do. It's effortless. - I guess that's not really tip though, it's more advice.

If I had to give a tip, I would say prioritize. To be productive, you can't be scattered. You have to
prioritize, be focused and think efficiently. And I stick to a schedule. Since I work from home most days,
we usually start about 8-9ish but always try to quit by 6. We try to work a very soft day on Saturdays
and usually nothing on Sundays. I think a defined schedule keeps you on track. I also hate to backtrack. Since we run several blogs, we try to work on one blog at a time and do several posts to keep in que.
That way we are not running back and fourth!

So with that, I think I would like to tag Easton Ellsworth, Wendy Piersall and Phil Gerbyshak! And hear  what they have to say!
