Seth Godin, Liz Strauss, Blogging and Banana's!

  WHAT'S  YOUR BANANA???

The other day we had the chance to chat with Liz Strauss . (Internet guru-goddess.)

Liz said that she sat in one of Seth Godin’s  (Internet guru-god) seminars once, and one of the points that he made was that a web page needs to have a big Banana - a simple main objective to offer your readers a reward - as well as get their permission to market to them.

  •    A Free download (in exchange for an email address)
  •    A Buy it Now button that is both obvious and enticing to click
  •    Any large call to action on a page of your blog or site
  •         Your banana could be as simple as an RSS icon - as big as your latest eBook, or a newsletter signup.

In  THE BIG RED FEZ, Godin's book ,  he say's a web site visitor is a lot like a monkey looking for one thing: a banana. If that banana isn't easy to see and easy to get, your visitor is gone with a quick click on the "Back" button.    - Make a  site better by being aware of  overlooked design tips.
